Einleitung

In diesem Artikel werden wir aktuelle PC500 Speicherriegel des Unternehmens A-DATA unter die Lupe nehmen ... aber wer ist eigentlich A-DATA?

Das im Mai 2001 in Taiwan gegründete Unternehmen A-DATA, welches zu Anfang nur 20 Mitarbeiter hatte und sich vorrangig auf DRAM Module konzentrierte, ist mittlerweile weltweit die Nummer 3 auf dem DRAM Speichermarkt und bietet eine große Palette von verschiedenen Speicherlösungen an.

Seit einiger Zeit versucht sich A-DATA auch auf dem europäischen Markt zu etablieren.

Vorstellung des Speichers

Die 2x 512 MB DDR500 (PC4000) Speicherriegel hören auf dem Namen „Vitesta“ und ist ein Mix vom französischen Wort „Vitesse“ (Geschwindigkeit) und dem Teil „ta“ des Wortes „Data“.

Sie besitzen einen roten, glänzenden Heatspreader (ist auf unseren Bildern leider nicht gut zu sehen) und haben neben dem A-DATA und Vetesta-Logo auf einer Seite noch einen kleinen Aufkleber mit einigen generellen Angaben. Die Timings sind allerdings nicht aufgedruckt.

Spezifiziert sind die Riegel als DDR500 (PC4000, ungebuffert, keine ECC Fehlerkorrektur) Speicher, sprich dieser kann offiziell mit 250 Mhz betrieben werden. Dies macht die Riegel für Overclocker sehr interessant. Als Standardspannung wird von A-DATA selbst 2.8 V (±0.1V) angegeben.

Im SPD der Riegel sind die Timings für 200 Mhz (2.5-4-4-7) und 250 Mhz (3.0-4-4-8) sauber einprogrammiert, welche auch korrekt von unserem BIOS ausgelesen und eingestellt wurden.
